Overview

2Ring Power Tool is a lightweight companion application designed to enhance the experience of using the 2Ring DASHBOARDS & WALLBOARDS (DW) solution. It allows end users to integrate web content, receive notifications, and trigger local actions directly from DW layouts.

Power Tool is typically deployed on agent workstations and provides an easy way to:

  • Display DW layouts in a persistent browser window.

  • Handle local notification events defined in DW.

  • Interact with external peripherals (e.g., Kuando Busylight).

  • Execute custom scripts via HTTP calls.

  • Communicate with hardware (e.g., Ontrak ADU devices).

Power Tool may be used throughout this documentation instead of the full name 2Ring Power Tool.

Typical Use Case

In combination with devices like Busylight, it can provide visual or audible cues in real time.
