Pie Chart - Grid¶

The Pie Chart - Grid displays data from a Grid calculation in the form of a circular chart. One of Grid calculation columns is designated as the value column. Each row of the Grid calculation becomes one slice of the chart, with the slice size determined by the value in the chosen value column. The chart can be accompanied with a legend and labels, displaying additional information about each slice.

The calculation options control, how the displayed values are calculated.
- Link to Data Source
  Whether data source should be used for generating results.
- Data Source
  Available only when “Link to Data Source” is enabled
  A data source to be used.
- Value Column
  Required
  A column from the selected Grid calculation, which values are used for determining the size of each slice.
- Segment Label Column
  A column from the selected Grid calculation, which values are used for labeling each slice.
Appearance
The style of a Pie Chart
- Type
  Required
  Type of the Pie Chart.
  - Doughnut - The chart is shaped like a doughnut, with a hole in the middle.
  - Pie - The chart is represented by a fully filled circle.
- Cut Out
  Whether chart’s segments are separated from each other by a small gap.
- Show Segment Labels
  When enabled, labels are visible on top of each segment.
  - Display When
    Required
    Whether the labels should be visible, when its segment isn’t big enough to contain it.
    - Always - The label is always visible.
    - If Enough Space - The label is only visible when there is enough space for it.
  - Mode
    Required
    Defines what type of information is shown in labels.
    - Title - The title of the segment is shown.
    - Value - The actual value, that the segment represents, is shown.
    - Percentage - The percentage, that each segment takes up from the whole chart, is shown.
  - Display Format
    Required
    Available only when “Value” or “Percentage” is selected as Mode.

  - Arc Text
    When enabled, the label is curved along the segment.
  - Position
    Required
    The relative distance of the label from the middle of chart. 0% means closest to the middle and 100% means furthest.
    
    Position value can go even above 100% resulting in label to be shown outside of the segment. But in such scenario full visibility of labels is not guaranteed.

  - Text Style

    Type of font to use and whether bold or italic text should be used.
  - Font Size
    Inheritable
    Size of the font. Measured in permilles of the entire Layout’s height.
  - Font Size Coefficient
    Inheritable
    The font size is calculated by multiplying available height for the text by font size coefficient.
- Show Legend
  When enabled, the legend is displayed. The legend displayed additional information about each segment.
  - Show Values
    Whether the actual value, that the segment represents, should be displayed in legend.
    - Display Format
      Required
      Format of the actual value.
    - Custom Display Format
      Available only when “Custom” is selected as a Display Format

  - Show Percentages
    Whether the percentage, that each segment takes up from the whole chart, should be displayed in legend.

      Format of the percentage.

    Content of the legend.
    - Segment Title - The title of the segment.
    - Segment Interval - The actual value, that the segment represents.
  - Position

    Position of legend.
    - Left - the legend is displayed on the left side of the chart.
    - Right - the legend is displayed on the right side of the chart.
    - Top - the legend is displayed on the top of the chart.
    - Bottom - the legend is displayed on the bottom of the chart.
  - Text Color

    A custom value that is displayed when the value is null.

  When enabled, tooltips are displayed when hovering over the pie chart.

    A border color of a square associated with the segment.
- Colors
  For ease of access, all aforementioned color related options are once again located in the Colors group.
  - Segment Background Color Column
    A column from the selected Grid calculation that should contain color values used for coloring each segment background.
  - Segment Label Color Column
    A column from the selected Grid calculation that should contain color values used for coloring each segment label.
  - Segment Background Color Palette
    Inheritable
    A palette of colors used to color the background of each pie segment. Colors are assigned sequentially based on segment order. Once all palette colors are exhausted, the cycle repeats from the first color. If both this setting and Segment Background Color Column are configured, Segment Background Color Column takes precedence.
