Quick Start

User Management

This section provides a walkthrough for adding users so they can access the DW application.

There are two kinds of users:

• Local users - managed entirely (including passwords) inside DW

• SSO / Imported users - sourced from an external identity provider like Microsoft Entra ID or Okta

Creating Local User

Local users are created directly in DW.

For detailed steps on creating a local user, see the Creating New User chapter.

Creating SSO User

Prerequisites

• At least one Identity Provider tenant (Microsoft Entra ID or Okta) configured.

• External user must have an email configured in the IDP.

Importing User

For detailed steps on importing users, see the Importing User chapter.

Important constraints

• Imported users cannot have their password set or changed in DW (authentication is delegated to the IdP).

• A user can be imported only once across all Business Units.

• User signs in via SSO flow (Entra / Okta).
