Segment Types

The following segment types are available in 2Ring Dashboards & Wallboards. Each serves a unique purpose and can be configured through the Layout Editor.

Banner
The Banner segment displays text, often used as a note or description within a layout. It can be styled, rotated, and even interpreted as Markdown, and when placed inside a Ticker, it supports scrolling.

Bar/Line Chart – Grid
This segment renders multiple calculations as bar or line charts in a grid layout. It is ideal for comparing values across categories and visualizing structured tabular data.

Bar/Line Chart – KPI Timeline
This segment displays the evolution of a KPI over time in bar or line format. It highlights performance trends and historical values across chosen intervals.

Calendar
The Calendar segment shows scheduled items or events in a familiar calendar view. It can use conditional styles to highlight important days or statuses.

Clock
The Clock segment displays the current time and date in digital form. It supports multiple time zones and formatting options for precise timekeeping.

Grid
The Grid segment organizes data into customizable rows and columns. It supports live updates, conditional styles, alerts, and is one of the most flexible ways to display detailed information.

Image
The Image segment displays a picture from static content or a URL. It is often used for branding, decoration, or to provide context with visual assets.

KPI
The KPI segment displays a single numeric value representing a key performance indicator. It supports thresholds, conditional formatting, and customizable appearance.

Label
The Label segment shows static text or a dynamic value from a calculation. It can be styled and used for annotations, titles, or descriptive context.

Nested Layout
The Nested Layout segment embeds another layout inside the current one. This allows for modular design and reuse of existing layouts in different contexts.

Nested Widget
The Nested Widget segment embeds a reusable widget in a layout. It supports parameterization from parent filters, making it useful for repeating similar views across teams or agents.

PDF Document
The PDF Document segment displays a PDF file within the layout. It can show specific pages or cycle through multiple pages for reference materials or reports.

Pie Chart
The Pie Chart segment displays values as portions of a circle or doughnut. It is commonly used to visualize distribution and relative proportions.

Sequence
The Sequence segment cycles through items in rotation, such as images or text. It is useful for creating slideshows or showing multiple pieces of content in limited space.

Shape
The Shape segment renders simple geometric elements like rectangles or circles. Shapes are used for layout structuring, grouping, or emphasis.

Social Feed – Facebook
The Facebook segment displays posts from a configured Facebook page feed. It integrates social content directly into layouts.

Social Feed – X (Twitter)
The Twitter segment displays tweets from a timeline or hashtag feed. It enables live updates and monitoring of Twitter content.

Ticker
The Ticker segment scrolls multiple items of text or values horizontally. It is useful for continuous updates like news, alerts, or KPIs.

Video – YouTube
The YouTube segment embeds a YouTube video player directly in the layout. It can be used for onboarding, training, or motivational videos.

Web Page
The Web Page segment embeds an external webpage within the layout. It enables integration of third-party dashboards, portals, or applications.

Word Cloud
The Word Cloud segment visualizes words by size according to frequency or weight. It provides a quick overview of trends or important terms in text data.
